Towards the end of August and in September the moose in Denali National Park start gathering in the front country of the park for the rut which happens during the middle and end of September. Though I was hoping for some big bull photos, it was mostly the cows that that showed up before I left the area on September third.

Even so, it was very exciting to see these great Alaska moose with their beautiful fall coats and in prime condition. With each visit I was able to get some good shots and on one visit I had a male caribou pose for me.

This cow moose was out by the road. I hoped she would make her way to this little pond and waited at least a half hour til she started her way there. Patience paid off as she stood in the water and drank.

Hopefully I'll get back there again and find those big bull Denali moose. Until then I'll be happy with these. Thanks for being here!
