I thought I should show you some caribou photos from Denali National Park. But since I got here they have been shedding their winter coat and are just now starting to grow their new winter coat so they don't look their best yet. Hopefully later in August or September we'll get to see some fall foliage and trophy racks.
And yes, they are also called reindeer! But reindeer refers to the farmed caribou.

Two bull caribou cross the Savage River in Denali Natl Park, Alaska near the bridge and parking lot. This photo was taken June 16th. Their coats are still rough. It will be two more months before they are getting their pretty winter coats.
Nikon D7500, Nikon 400mm, 1/1000th @ f4.5, ISO 640, Bogen tripod. The 400mm lens on this camera gives an effective lens of 600mm.
Thanks for being here with me!
