Last night we got to witness our first Northern Lights display and it was fabulous! We were staying at The Denali RV Park & Motel in Healy, Alaska. This park is eight miles north of Denali Natl. Park.
A local person said it is rare to get the reds and purples this far south.
Our 5th wheel RV with the Northern Lights.
You could actually see them dancing and moving in the sky. The day was cloudy and smoky and we had our doubts about seeing them. We were prepared to drive north. But as the sun was setting the sky cleared out. Everything was in place including the electrons and protons for a spectacular display. Seeing the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis was on our to do list while here in Alaska but we never expected the show we saw.
We have just a few more days left here in Alaska. But I have a couple of more posts coming this week before we leave.
Thanks for being here!
